Thoughts – Learn it the HARD Way

My mum used to tell me not to do this, not to do that when I was younger. My response to her was always “you have been through it, I haven’t. I don’t know how bad the situation will be. So I rather go through it and learn it the hard way. Thus, let me be.

So, I’m telling you to go ahead, as long as you are happy. Just make sure that you learn something after every bad thing that happened/happens. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of your life.”.

That was what I told C after listening to her (same) story/updates for months over this guy, whom I thought, wasn’t suitable for her.

It’s just human, to not want to give up just by listening to what others had experience because of the fear or regret. Therefore, I wouldn’t stop her if she was to go ahead and be with this guy. But I just hope that if it doesn’t go her way, she can learn something from it for I don’t see her learning from any of her past experiences.

I’m not sure if trends do happen, but the lil’ hub, of late, had been regretting his decision to quit his 9-5 job previously. Well, he didn’t want to heed my advice, so I had to push him to the other direction to let him have a taste of it. I do hope that he will learn something after this 1.5 years of aimlessness (from my point of view).

Learn it through the hard way. Hmm… I did my fair share of it. Am just glad that most of it happened when I was much younger and that I really learned a lot through those experiences. That’s probably the reason why I’m still friends with all of them (except one which I don’t regret, I just felt bad towards). But I do actually feel very settled after finally deciding to get married and have children. One lovely girl, and a boy coming soon. Life’s good, and will always be, as long as you don’t dwell on it.
